Does Simba offer live cover?

No. If you would like to use Simba as a stud, Artificial insemination (AI) is the only option. Collections of fresh semen can be delivered or collected at your vet of choice.

How much does Simba weigh?

Simba floats between 69-71 pounds. Depending on the season and activities we are doing he weight will range but normally he very close to70 pounds.

How is Simba with kids?

Simba loves kids! He is very soft and kids just love petting him and laying on him. He will play fetch with anyone that will toss the ball, frisbee or buoy.

Has Simba sired any litters?

Yes! Simba has been an active stud for the last 3 years.

How much does it cost to use Simba as a stud?

The stud fee it broken out into two payments. The first payment of $300 is nonrefundable and due at time of collection. The second payment is only if there is a litter of at least two living puppies after 14 days. Does Simba hunt?

Simba has been trained for upland hunting and has successfully flushed and retried birds. He was scent trained as a puppy and is a natural when it comes to upland bird hunting.

Has Simba had DNA tests done?

Yes! He has had multiple DNA tests completed. Royal Canin, Embark, UC Davis, and the ACK DNA test. All have came back with results showing Simba is clear of any known bad genes in Golden Retrievers. DNA Results

Do you ship chilled or frozen semen?

Chilled. I have a very detailed process when it comes to shipping. More details can be found a the bottom of the Stud Services page. There is an additional $225 flat shipping fee + $300 standard non refundable stud fee.

Have you had Simba’s semen professionally examined?

Yes! In August 2025 Simba went to the Janssen Veterinary Clinic outside of Sheridan, Indiana and had an entire work up done. He passed with flying colors on his physical, prostate and brucella exams. His sperm collection yielded 4.1mL, concentration of 293million/mL, Total Sperm of 1.2 billion, with a motility of 90%.
